Elyssa Castillo, LPC

 

Elyssa Castillo serves as a Licensed Professional Counselor, providing counseling services including individual, group, couple and family counseling with a specialty in working with kids. Mrs. Castillo obtained her Bachelors of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2011 with an Early Childhood through 6th grade teaching certification. She went on to complete her Masters of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015. Following the completion of her degrees, she then became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2018. Mrs. Castillo has had a number of years of field work working with kids from 3 years old to young adults in settings including schools, drop in centers, and residential treatment facilities. Mrs. Castillo established herself as a clinician at Roy Maas Youth Alt where she has spent almost 5 years working with children coming from intense trauma history and behavioral problems. Her areas of interest include: trauma, abuse, neglect, behavioral problems, ADHD, anxiety, stress management, depression, foster care, young children, adolescence, family, and couples. Mrs. Castillo uses a variety of different therapies like play therapy to address her client’s needs bringing creativity to the therapeutic process. Mrs. Castillo is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and trained in Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI).
