Sharon Aguirre, LPC

Sharon is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an Air Force veteran.  Sharon graduated from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2012 and received her Masters of Art degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. Sharon has gained over 10 years of experience counseling veterans and active-duty military members, at-risk youth/adolescents, adults, and families. She’s experienced in working with a myriad of concerns that include: depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, substance abuse recovery, grief and loss, communication and relationship issues, and self-esteem.

 Sharon believes in meeting each individual client where they are, tailoring her approach to their unique needs. She believes that we all possess the power to shape the narrative of our lives. To achieve this, she has expanded her skills in a variety of evidence-based practices over the years, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, and Expressive/Sand tray Therapy.

Sharon offers a compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to therapy. Sharon will walk along beside you through your healing journey; and assist in obtaining the necessary tools to address challenges and obstacles in a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free environment.
